Field Investigation Of Ageing Kidney-deficiency Syndrome In Bogota, Colombia And Contrastive Study With The Relevant Researches In Six Districts Of PR China

Aim:Study on the global distributions and differential symptoms of ageing Kidney-deficiency syndrome. Methods:By employing the established and standard table that contains 68 differential factors of senescence Kidney-deficiency,we designed a questionnaire and collected 300 samples from the senior citizens of Botoga,Colombia,and 2600 samples in six districts of PR China. These returned questionnaires were marked according to the details described in the above standard table,and treated by statistic methods such as sum score sequence,average score and frequency distributional compare,Pearson correlation,Wilcoxon-Smirnov and Two-sample Kolmogorrov-Smimov test,and cluster analysis through both variations and samples. Intensive analysis in the present thesis was focused on the comparative researches to the senescence Kidney-deficiency symptoms in Colombia,and contrastive studied with those of Chinese samples. Results:1. The results of sum score sequence and average analysis demonstrate that:(1). The most outstanding symptoms in senior citizens of Colombia are located at bones and articulars;(2). Symptoms of blood stasis are also significant;but (3). Symptoms related to frequent nocturnal urines are quite few there. 2. Seven syndrome groups were obtained by means of cluster analysis,they generally displayed the distinguished features of the ageing Kidney-deficiency in Colombia,which are always mixed with Yin and Yang,rarely as simple deficiency. 3. To some extent there exist differences in Kidney Yang- and Yin-deficiency,blood stasis upon Kidney-deficiency and deficiency of Kidney-energy,contrasted between the two groups of Colombian and Chinese aged. Of the other syndromes there have similar results between them. Discussion:Based on these statistic approaches we can find that there exist prominent correlations and marked differences of ageing Kidney-deficiency between the western and eastern world,represented by Colombia and Chinese,respectively. Such conditions imply that individual habitats,social environments and geological conditions may play key roles;which comply the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine,suit measures to local conditions and different formula meet different locations. By the way,our investigation shown some contradictory results such as the floating pulse and deposit pulse were clustered within the same group. Such profound contradictions attract further studies.
