The Progress Of Study On Vascular Dementia

Vascular dementia (VD) is a kind of dementia syndromes caused by a series of factors of cerebral vascular which lead to the hurt of cerebral issuses. The disease incidence is increasing gradually, many medicines have not obviously curative effect,it is important for medical workers to explore new therapeutic method. Now acupuncture is favourablly recepted because it is easy to be operated and shows no side effect. In the article, we summed up the pathogenic factors, pathogenesis,types, neuropathology, treatments of VD in modern and traditional Chinese medicine, as well we discussed and prospected the unsettled questions.According to the characteristics of VD and our teacher's experience, we put forward a new train of thought about treating VD in acupuncture, that is the method of Yuan Luo Tong Jing used to stimulate the channel of qi, and showed notably curative effect.Now we can not make an objective appraisal of its curative effect because of the small sample.It will be studied further from now on.
