The genetic diversity and phylogeny of 29 soybean rhizobium strains isolated from parts of China, together with 13 reference strains, was analyzed by ERIC-PCR, 16S rDNA PCR-RFLP,GSâ…¡PCR-RFLP.The phylogeny of the representative strains were performed by 16S rDNA and GSâ…¡sequences analysis. The results showed that ERIC-PCR divided 29 strains into 7 groups at 82% level of similarity. The result of 16S rDNA PCR-RFLP divided 29 soybean strains into 7 groups at the 82%similarity,and they located in 3 phylogentic branches - genus of Rhizobium, Sinorhizobium and Agrobacterium. One group consisting of 13 strains was heredity difference with recent reference strain R.etli CFN 42~T.GSâ…¡PCR-RFLP divided all of 29 into 10 groups at the 83%level of similarity. The 16S rDNA sequencing analysis divided thaese 29 strains into 3 branches-Rhizobium, Sinorhizobium and Agrobacterium. The similarities between those strains located in Rhizobium and R.sullae USDA 4950~T was 99.0%;The similarities between CCBAU10109 and S.freii ATCC 35423~T was 100%;The similarities between CCBAU31002,CCBAU21024 and A.tumefaciense NCPPB 2437~T were 99.6%;The similarity between CCBAU01040 and A.rubi IFO 13261~T was 98.4%.The GSâ…¡sequence analysis was similar to that of the 16S rDNA sequencing, and divided the 29 strains into 2 phylogenic branches -Rhizobium- Agrobacterium and Sinorhizobium. The similarities between those strains located in Rhizobium and R.leguminosarum USDA 2370~T were at the 90.0%similarity;The similarities between CCBAU10109 and S.freii USDA 205~T was 99.5%;The similarities between CCBAU31002,CCBAU21024,CCBAU01040 and A.tumefaciense CCBAU 61139~T were 94.0%,93.9%and 95.7%.
