This experiment was targeted to the introduced bermudagrass and the native bermudagrass collected from North of China. Through evaluating the turf quality and morphological trait, the results was shown below:1. Native bermudagrass collected from North of China has huge variety in heredity and morphological trait. The range of tillering is 0.12-0.35piece/node·d, erect stem growth speed 0.15-0.52cm/d, stolon growth speed 0.51-2.51cm/d. the coefficient of average variations were significantly, which is from 28.17% to 37.81%, the range of morphological trait variance coefficient is 12.32%-53.60%, the analysis results of primary morphological trait is showed as: the largest stem length 11.35-30.98cm,the leaf length 3.67-10.44 cm,the leaf width 0.21-0.38cm, the number of leaves 6.5-13pieces/tress,erect stem diameter 0.09-0.16cm, erect stem internode length 1.11-5.54cm, stolon internode length 3.43-8.20cm, stolon internode diameter 0.13-0.19cm.2. The green period of bermudagrass is influenced by temperature evidently; The largest green period is 192 and 191 days for A5 and C1, the green periods for C5, C2, A3, C4, C6, C3, A2 are longer than166 days, C1, C2, C3, C4, A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, have better cold durability and can keep green longer under the influence of frost damage. The green degrees of C9, C12, C13 will decrease largely although the prophase evaluation is very high.3. The result of the turf quality evaluation is shown below: C12 have the highest score of 7.0. the next is C9, A5 whose scores are 6.9, C13(6.8) and A3(6.7). C1, C2, C3, C4, A2 are also good materials who have the score between 6.4-6.6. Thus it is concluded that most of bermudagrass in North China have higher turf quality and have the direct availability value.4. By clustering analysis of the 13 morphological traits, the 13 pieces bermudagrass can be classified into 3 groups: the first is including C9, C12, C13, with characteristics of small height, short and narrow leaf, large leaf number, short and thin erect stem internode, deep green, high density, fine texture and high resistance. The second is including C7, C10 and C11 with strong stem, small height, longer stolon internode and small density. The third is including C1 and the others, whose stolon internode is short and stout, growing speed is high, leaf number is large, stem density is high, color and consistency is good.5. The results showed that applied nitrogen can effectively improve the turf color and density, and extend the green periods. Clipping yield increased significantly with nitrogen applied rate increasing.6. Synthetizing the analysis above, bermudagrass in North China is low turf materials, with good color propery, density, consistency, high stress resistance. C1 and A5 have similar morphological trait, high turf quality, fast damage renewability and strong cold resistance; they can be directly used in parks and playgrounds. C14,C13,C12 and C9 has small height, deep green color, high density, good consistency, but the green period is short, can be tried to used in golf course in the south of china as high quality turfgrass. C2, C3 and C4 also have good quality and can be used as view Grassland. Thus, bermudagrass in North China have huge value in use.
