General Situation Of Pepper Industry And Analysis Of Pepper Freezing In Juryin Yichuan Country

This article expounded pepper Industry Overview in Yichuan country, analyzed comparatively the advantages and disadvantages of pepper cultivation model, investigated on peppers'freezing injury in winter of 2002 which has lowest temperature during 50 years based on the previous results of pepper (Zanthoxylum bungeanum Maxim.).The investigation result showed that sustained extreme low temperature is the main cause of peppers'freezing injury. Site conditions affected peppers'freezing injury more obviously, with the age increase, the antifreeze increase. Native trees antifreeze ability is superior to Dahongpao and other new varieties. The occurrence of peppers'freezing injury and wind speed has a direct relationship. Peppers'mortality rate in a certain protection forest villages is smaller than mortality rate7% in field.Through comparative and analysis of main cultivation model of pepper, the result showed that these cultivation model are suitable for the development of Yichuan, such as: Chinese prickly ash orchard and growing grass pattern, Chinese prickly ash-bupleurum compound Management pattern, Chinese prickly ash-vegetable pattern and forest-crop intercropping compound Management pattern.Through the analysis of different reason of causing peppers'freezing injury and cold injury degree: (1) sustained extreme low temperature will cause water freezing in tree, affecting the normal passage. The extreme low temperature strengthens the role of transpiration, causing plants died due to water loss. (2) Building garden which not according to local conditions has increased damage ratio. (3) Not enough scientific management techniques reduced ability of withstanding damage, and caused massive death of plants.On the basis of the above analysis, a series of detail measures which promote peppers'industry are put forward, such as a optimized layout, selecting drought resistance varieties and so on.
