The Curative Effect Of SLQWY On Infectious Bronchitis In Chickens

In order to improve the curative effect on infectious bronchitis in chickens, we designed a chinese medicinal prescription-"SLQWY"according to the pathogenesis. This prescription mainly consists of ginseng, Ganoderma lucidum, isatidis,radix, Astragalus mongholicus, Gardenia augusta Merr. To investigate its effect, we carried out this study from three aspects.1 The effect on infectious bronchitis virus M41 in embryonated eggs of SLQWYWith the embryonated eggs infected with the standard M41 strain of IBV, the inhibition effect of SLQWY were investigated. The results showed that SLQWY has no any side effect on the development of the embryos, and different concentrations selected can protect the embryos, indicating that SLQWY has marked antiviral effect.2 Preventive and curative effect of SLQWY on the chickens experimentally artificial infected with infectious bronchitis virus M41Seven hundred 3-week-old Hy-line variety brown chickens were experimentally infected with the standard M41 strain of IBV,and then divided into seven groups at random. Before and after inoculation, different dosages of SLQWY were added into drinking water to observe the incidence rate, clinical symptom, fatality rate, and pathological alterations, with moroxydine as positive control drug. The results showed that SLQWY can protect the infected chickens. Nought point six seven permillage of SLQWY in drinking water can effectively cure the chickens experimentally infected with infectious bronchitis virus, and the curative rate is 86.25%, higher than that of moroxydine treated group.3 Curative effect of SLQWY on the chickens naturally infected with infectious bronchitis virus M41Through epidemiological survey, clinical symptom identification, pathological alterations, and laboratory examination, 4827 chickens were diagnosed to be naturally infected with infectious bronchitis virus, and then divided into several groups at random. Different dosages of SLQWY were added into drinking water to observe fatality rate, clinical symptom, and curative rate. The results showed that 0.67‰of SLQWY can effectively cure the chickens naturally infected with infectious bronchitis virus, and the curative rate was 92.02%. Nought point six seven permillage added into drinking water is recommended to be the therapeutic dose to treat the infectious bronchitis.These data indicated that SLQWY has favorable preventive and curative effect on infectious bronchitis in chickens and marked antiviral effect.
