Effects Of Eye - Eye Combined With Operation Therapy On Daily Living Ability And Upper Limb Exercise In Patients With Ischemic Stroke

Objective：To observe the clinical efficacy of eye acupuncture combined withoccupational therapy on activity of daily living and upper limb movement functionin patients with ischemic stroke.Method：60cases with convalescence ischemic stroke from EncephalopathyDivision，rehabilitation center，Liaoning university of TCM were selected.Patients were randomly assigned to eye acupuncture combined with occupationaltherapy group（treatment group）and occupational therapy group（control group），each group with30cases. Patients of treatment group received eye acupuncture：acupoint selection：upper jiao area，lower jiao area，hepatic region，renal region；each patient received eye acupuncture once a day，with retaining the needle30minutes at a time. Before and6weeks after treatment，the Fugl-Meyer assessmentof upper limb and modified Barthel index of the two groups were compared in orderto evaluate the clinical efficacy.Results：1.In terms of modified Barthel index，there was no significant difference betweenthe two groups before treatment（P＞0.05），and the two groups are comparable；Difference before and after treatment for the same group is very meaningful （P＜0.01）；After the treatment there was a significant difference in activitiesof daily living between the treatment group and the control group（P＜0.01）.2.In terms of simplified Fugl-Meyer assessment of upper limb，difference beforeand after treatment for the same group is very meaningful（P＜0.01），after thetreatment there was a significant difference between the treatment group andthe control group（P＜0.01）.Conclusions：1.The improvement of the motor function of limbs in the eye acupuncture combinedwith occupational therapy group was superior to that in the occupational therapygroup. Eye acupuncture combined with occupational therapy can better promote the recovery of limb movement function in the affected side.2.The improvement of the activities of daily living in the eye acupuncturecombined with occupational therapy group were superior to that in theoccupational therapy group. Eye acupuncture combined with occupational therapycan improve the activities of daily living and quality of life of patients.
