Along with the development of high class highway in western regions, the tunnel construction problems of unfavorable geological sections are climbing up in terms of the construction of mountainous tunnel. Geological disasters of tunnels occur frequently, such as large deformation, landslide, water gushing, etc. Therefore, on the premise of ensuring safety of construction, reducing the cost and improving work efficiency, how to control the construction effectively is a critical problem to be solved.This paper proceeds from the angles of prevention and treatment of geological hazard. Relying on the engineering construction entity—Laolong Mountain tunnel of Taiyuan to Jiaxian freeway, and combining with the actual situations of the unfavorable geological tunnel, the paper analyses the construction technology of the Laolong Mountain tunnel.(1) For the tunnel construction of unfavorable geological section, the accurate judgement of the surroundings ahead is the premise of construction. Based on the comparison of direct and indirect geological forecast methods, the comprehensive pre-processing forecast method of the Laolong Mountain tunnel is proposed in the present study, and the condition and interpretation of the TGP and geological radar is elaborated through the engineering examples of unfavorable geological section forecast.(2) From the angle of the pre-reinforcement measures and excavation method of unfavorable geological section, the article analyses the pre-reinforcement principle and method of unfavorable geological section tunnels. Through the comparison of excavation methods, the paper, in combination with the large deformation and landslides hazard the Laolong Mountain tunnel construction encountered, puts forth the pre-reinforcement and excavation methods which are applicable for the unfavorable geological section of Laolong Mountain tunnel.(3) The treatment plan is analyzed and the disaster treatment effect is evaluated Through the site monitoring measurement.
