Along with the rapid development of science and technology and growth of the population, more and more energy is demanded in recent years. Because the oil, gas, coal and other important energy are not renewable resources, many countries have lacked energy in different degrees. Especially, some developed countries are facing the crisis of the energy exhaustion. And the use of the routine energy brings not only environmental pollution but also the destruction of the delicate balance between oxygen and carbon dioxide in the air. These have caused a series of serious consequences, for instance, the rising average temperature, the melting sea ice, etc.People have started to study the new replacements and renewable energy in order to meet the human needs and the process of modernization. Solar energy is a new and inexhaustible energy as well as a renewable clean energy which won't cause environmental pollution. To develop and utilize solar energy fully is the important strategic decision of the energy sustainable development for the world.We all know that solar energy could be transformed into electrical energy, heat energy, mechanical energy, bioenergy and other forms of energy...etc. Among them, electricity for storage and transportation makes both life and production extremely convenient for people. Therefore, the use of solar photovoltaic power which is solar battery is to be born. In the batteries, Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSC) which is the most conspicuous has many advantages such as the cheap materials, the simple production process and high stability and broad application prospects.In this paper, the TiO2 electrodes were modified by the carbon balls with the different diameters, simply assembled cells and tested photoelectric transformation properties. The DSSC performance was affected by the carbon balls incorporated into the TiO2 paste and obtained the highest photoelectric conversion efficiency 4.81%. This paper is divided into 4 chapters and the chapters are as follows:The first chapter introduced briefly the energy crisis, the research background of DSSC, developing status and research progress.The second chapter studied that the carbon balls with the diameter of 100 nm incorporated into TiO2 film electrode impacted on the performance of DSSC in detail. The influence of carbon balls to the efficiency of DSSC was revealed in the microstructure of the TiO2 films and experimental conditions.The third chapter studied that the carbon balls with the diameters of 100 nm and 200 nm incorporated into TiO2 electrodes influenced the performance of DSSCs in detail,respectively. The influence of the carbon balls to the efficiency of DSSC was revealed in the microstructure of the TiO2 films and experimental conditions. Results showed that the anode modified by the carbon balls with the diameters of 100 nm had the highest surface area, best dye adsorption and presented the best performance 4.81%.
