A Tentation Study Of The Suburban Railway Station Design

The paper firstly defines the suburban railway station, basically including the common suburban railway station constructions. Then it discusses the concept, the basic principle and the essential methods of the suburban railway station design focusing on the station's regional localization in urban planning, the reasonable organization of the interior functions and streamline, and the station construction's outward appearance and internal environment design in order to achieve the station construction and the city space integration, organic conformity of the internal functional streamline, the outward appearance and internal environment with individual characteristics. Finally, the paper forecasts the suburban railway station's future trend based on the case study from the European countries, US, Japan and Singapore, and Wuxi city as well. Some design rules are summarized in the paper, which would be beneficial to the domestic massive station launch.
