ABSTRACT:With the acceleration of urbanization, traffic congestion is becoming more and more severe in center city. So, the government of many big cities have adjusting urban layout and structure. Urban suburbanization trend has come out in some big cities.So,the government will construct satellite cities, residential groups and suburbs. As a result, traffic demand will be increased between city center and suburbs. Suburban railway has its own advantages, and guide the development of new town. In addition,with the development of city,big cities will construct multi-level rail transit. So,it is very important to do some research about suburban railway.Firstly,the thesis gives suburban railway a generalized definition and a narrow definition,and explains that the suburban railway in the thesis is the narrow definition.Then gives a definition to the suburban railway applicability that reformed from existing railway.According to the data and literature about suburban railway,in the thesis.Line layout mode and construction mode are summarized. From two different point of view of city and railway, the thesis elaborates the necessity of reform existing railway into suburban railway.From technology and economy aspect,the thesis explains the feasibility of reform existing railway into suburban railway.On the above basis,the thesis does a evaluation research of line applicability towards reform existing railway into suburban railway. In this paper, AHP-fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model is built to evaluate the suburban railway line applicability. First, the evaluation index system is established with twenty evaluation indexes in the four criteria layers and then calculates each weight of the indexes by the method of AHP. The mark of those indexes is given according to evaluation degree by experienced experts. So the single factor evaluation matrix is done. Then the finalcomprehensive evaluation score and the score of every criteria layer and calculated by multi-level fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method according to every index weight. Ultimately, the feasibility of evaluation model is verified by suburban railway S2in Beijing.
