With the implementation of the China's strategy to develop its western regions and the rapid development of traffic system,it is inevitable to build tunnels in the mountain area.When building tunnels in southwest of China,we have to face countless difficulties,because of its unusual geological condiation.For example,in the process of building the Baojiashan tunnel of Shanxi province,we encountered the rare phyllite rock,which will transfer to mud when toutched with water.It not only has the common characteristics of other soft rock,but has its own character,so brings many problems to project.In the process of studing soft rock tunnel,firstly we need to study the physical mechanics character,and then,the most important is to study the mechanism of action of supporting structure and to analyze the stability of tunnel in the process of construction.Because of the former study of phyllite is very limited,this paper adopt the method of experiment and numerical simulation,make a research of the phyllite's physical mechanics character and mechanism of action of tunnel support in the process of construction.The main research results are listed as follows:(1) Making a systematic study of the phyllite's physical mechanics character,and get the parameter of the rock.Meantime,we get the discipline when the phyllite encourter water,by which we raised the inferior classification of phyllite.(2) Adopting the scientific method of numerical simulation mixed with spot experiment data,raise detailed simulation proposal,exert the qualitative and quantitative method,assemble different support type,and make abundant calculation, take settlement,convergence,line stress,rock stress into account,and finally get the optimalizing support type.And by all the above,we get the mechanism of action of all the supporting structure and stability of the tunnel.
