The radar-based life-detection is that using microwave from radar to illuminate the human body without contacting it, the reflected wave of radar, which carries certain life information, is modulated by the surface movement resulting from the physical activity. With some special hardware circuits and signal processing algorithm, the life parameters, such as respiration and heartbeat rate, will be detected. The radar-based life-detector designed by our research unit in the early time is based on personal computer as the central processing and controlling unit. The signals, after having been sampled and received by USB interface, is analyzed, processed and displayed on the computer screen by the computer. The main problem of this system in practice is not convenient to carry because of its big volume and heavy weight. In order to make up for the deficiency of this detection system, we put forward the project that LCD is used to display and the model of DSP+MCU+A/D(chip) takes place of the model of PC+A/D(card), which reduces the volume and the weight of this system. The project which puts DSP ahead of MCU, after experimenting in this model, leads to an obvious delay in display and screen refresh, and can not display in real time.To solve these problems mentioned above, this study put forward an improved project. The project reserves LCD, further takes the model of double MCU+A/D (chip), renew the system software. One MCU undertakes the control of the system, the other processes digital signals. It can process and display in real time, which is small in size, light in weight, low in power consumption and easy to carry, and so on, meanwhile, reduces the system structure and the cost largely. The following research has mainly been carried out in this thesis:1. Designed the rear system of radar-based life-detector based on MCU C8051F120 and C8051F123 of Silicon Laboratories, and developed the hardware platform. After having been preprocessed, the analog signals are converted to digital signals by AD7707, and through the serial port C8051F120 reads these signals. Use some different digital signals processing algorithm to process them, and then the result is parallel sent to MCU C8051F123 to display the result of whether somebody or nobody and whether in motion or motionless, meanwhile, sent to display the waves on the liquid crystal display.2. Programmed the software system of the rear system of radar-based life-detector based on double microcontroller C8051F. Based on C language and the Cygnal IDE software developing system provided by Silicon Labortaries, the program of data sampling and processing can be used to sample life parameter signals, process the data and display the result in real time.3. Designed the scheme of experiments and evaluated the hardware circuit and software system. Accumulated lots of experimental data , evaluated the whole efficiency of the system, such as the display of waves in real time, the judgment ability whether somebody or nobody and whether in motion or motionless , and presented the results.Main innovations in the thesis are listed below:1. Put forward the idea of the rear system of radar-based life-detector based on double microcontroller C8051F, solve the problem of the miniaturization of the radar-based life-detector, and reduce the cost.2. Accomplish the hardware circuit and the software system of the rear system of radar-based life-detector based on double microcontroller C8051F. Solve the problem to process and display in real time.
