Minitype reactor has many characters such as small volume, light weight, safe, credible and can offer considerable power for long time. It has become a disquisitive hotspot of many developed country for its special purpose in many fields such as seawater desalting, area heat, sailer power, outer space power and so on. This project aims at the exigent need for the development of minitype nuclear power reactor and has finished the physics investigation of the Minitype Fast-neutron Reactor(MFR).This paper has set up a smart physics model for the fuel components, coolant, core configuration, reflect layer and peripheral shield based on the characters of MFR by monte carlo code MCNP-4C. Then a detailed calculation for the characteristic parameters was done, such as critical K_eff, neutron spectrum, neutron flux distribution, power distribution, reactivity control, activation distribution and the productivity of radioactive product. The final results indicate that the main parameters of MFR's conceptual design are reasonable and its basic physical specialities comply with the requirement and intention of core design. The reactor has benign stability and inherent security. The control system is able to carry out a reliable reactivity balance efficiently and meets the request for long-playing operation. The shielding material out of main container can work out an approving structure primarily with carbon steel according to the security rule. Both natrium activation in first loop and radioactive damnification of structural stuff are extremely restricted and simple to shield from. The results are relatively credible and not affected much by different data library. However, more detailed calculation and a great many work of experiment and validation should be carried out combined with other primary systems in latter design.The work of this paper has great significance for the application and development of minitype reactor. It not only can provide basilic reference for the construction and security analyse of minitype fast-neutron reactor, but also has great value in the other nuclear fields such as atomic energy, dose study, radioprotection and radioactive biology.
