Generalized Hamilton system theory is one of the important methods studying nonlinear systems at present, the sententious expression and having signification of energy makes it definitude and embody, when it expresses system's physical signification. And moreover, some peculiar characteristics of power system such as: nonlinear, the widely of system distributing, the high dimensional of state-space, and high speed of the control, they make Generalized Hamilton system theory has particular excellence when it using in power system. This paper introduced Hamilton system theory used in transient stability analysis with single-machine infinite-bus power system: Symplectic structure and Hamilton equation, Generalized Poisson parentheses and Generalized Hamilton equation, the definition and realizing method of Generalized Hamilton, energy feedback and energy-Casimir function. For example, power system considering the generator steam-valve and excitation, using Generalized Hamilton system theoretical analyzed transient stability of power system, and studied different Hamilton function form between the action of different control scheme, and using Lyapunov theorem to check out. With the compute in single-machine infinite-bus power system, the result shows that this theory is exactitude and compute fast, it is a new promising method in power system transient stability analysis.Generalized Hamilton system theory is distinguishing stability using energy, but not using computing system movement trace. The excellence of direct method is high speed, and it could give the fix value of stability. Consequently, this theory can be used in online dynamic security analysis and outline transient stability analysis in power system.
