The research on high power-density electrical machine comes form a real project with the need of wind tunnel propeller model. The electrical machine not only character high power, small volume, high rotate speed and terrible heating, but also has a big length to diameter ratio. Aiming at the problem, the research in the dissertation deal with three sides that include electromagnetism, mechanism, heating and cooling.On base of the research of electromagnetism, found the right value of electromagnetism load. By the analysis, got the appropriate wind type that met the lower heating of high power density machine. Took the characteristic of variable voltage variable frequency power supply into account, obtained the pole-pairs. By the compared, determined the rotator slot type, electromagnetism material, etc. Given the result the electromagnetism design. Checked the result the electromagnetism design using the FLUX.On base of the research of heating structure cooling structure and cooling medium, designed a double screw thread circulated water cooling structure to satisfy the need both small volume and good cooling. Adopted the thermal network method calculated the stator temperature.Aiming at the problem of big length to diameter ratio and high rotate speed, checked the intensity and rigidity to ensure safety of rotator shaft and rotator magnetism material.Finally, some experiments of the motor are completed, such as cooling water-circuit, no-load and load experiment. The experiment results indicated that the high power-density electrical machine satisfied the needs of wind tunnel propeller model testing requirements.
