This paper introduced a solar combisystem providing space heating as well as domestic hot water for the inhabitants of the building. In order to know the running performance of solar combisystem, simulation and experiments were carried out.First, simulation on solar combisystem was carried out. The performances and energy consumption were analyzed under different conditions including different area of solar collector, different volume of water tank for heating or energy storage, and different room area etc. The influence of the domestic hot water load was also be considered, which made the water temperature in the tank decreased and led to not enough energy for space heating.Based on the result of simulation and weather condition in Tianjin, an experimental system was set up. And some data about system performance were acquired, such as the water temperature variation in tank, the indoor temperature, the solar energy and auxiliary energy consumption. The feasibility of solar combisystem in Tianjin was analyzed.Because the radiation flux of solar energy is quite low, different between day and night, summer and winter, the uncontinuity is a big problem in the utilization of solar energy. In order to solve this problem, heat storage in solar heating system was investigated. The storage of solar energy made it possible to use solar energy after the sunset. So more solar energy could be used in the system and the performance was improved.
