The Study On The Hydraulic Characteristics Of The Channel With Vegetation

The existence of vegetation in the channel will disturb the flow and change it's structure. It can decrease the velocity of flow, so resulting to the rise of the water level and the deposition of silt. So it is important to understand the flow characteristics of the channel with vegetation.Based on the data and investigation, we made clearly about the flow through vegetation. Based on the experimental data, a three-dimensional -Acoustic Doppler Velocimeter is used here to measure the velocity components, the turbulence intensity and the Reynolds stress of the flow field in three coordinate directions. We also discus the influences of the slope, the arrangement of vegetation and the quantity to the flow characteristics.
