Moving Target Detection is a hot topic in the area of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR),Now many countries in the world are making great efforts to develop MTD systems and explore high efficient MTD algorithms. This dissertation studies thoroughly the techniques of MTD,especially slowly moving targets. On the basis of the changing of Direction Of Arrival and Doppler frequency which are brought by long Coherent Processing Interval(CPI), Space-time adaptive processing(STAP) was used on SAR with the changing. The paper presents several methods of MTD and the principle of STAP before analyses the effect of the DOA changing on STAP. For traditional STAP needs DOA almost is invariable within CPI, so the long CPI of SAR was divided into several time sections that the DOA and Doppler frequency are almost the same. Covariance matrix was estimated with echo and computes adaptive weight individually. It gains good performance for detecting moving target especially slowly one.
