Water cycle is the bridge of cycle of the earth, biology and atmosphere. It also is the core issue of the global carbon cycle, water cycle and food fiber. With the development of society and economy, the demands to harness river for people is more and more strict, as well as what is deprived from river become more and more. Simultaneity, the natural manner of the water cycle has been changed, which causes the changes of substance transportation and energy cycle. This paper based on the laws of water cycle, taking Yellow River Basin as a case, studies the changing trend of national runoff due to human activation and then study the changed trend of sediment movements and energy balance which causes by changes of runoff.Firstly, this paper studies the trend of the natural runoff of Huayuankou station, and then studies changing characteristic of runoff of Huayuankou station under the human activities. These human activities include runoff retention and use, growing industrial, agricultural and domestic water demands, water conservancy project and interlatitudinal water transfer project. Secondly, because human has changed rule of water cycle, the temporal and spatial distribution of the runoff and sediment has also changed. Therefore, this paper will analyze changing rules of distribution of the whole Yellow river reaches on which have been impacted by human activities such as held up sediment by water resource project, deposition of river bed and sediment movement due to water transfer. What is more, this paper analyzes influences of environment that the varied sediment brings. Finally, according to the relationship between the water cycle and the energy exchange, this paper will study the impacts on the climate because of the changed characteristics of river basin surface which result from human activities.
