Mass Customization (MC) is a new advanced manufacturing mode, whichpresented in 80days and was booming in 90 days during the last century. And it hasbecome the new competitive frontier in business competition and been paid muchattention to by domestic and foreign manufacturing enterprises. Nowadays, a numberof experts, scholars and manufacturing enterprises are studying and practicing on itdeeply and systematically. For realizing MC in enterprises, lots of technologies on therapid product design for MC must be resolved and it is becoming the focus of studyon the manufacturing area. However, the researches at present aren't adequatelymature. So, this paper will study further more on the system structure about productdesign for MC, the key implementing technologies of product rapid design system forMC, application and so on.Based on the research on MC mode and its product design system, this paperpresents a new system named the product rapid design system for MC, then study onthe system structure. At the same time, this paper pay an emphases on thecustomization subsystem for individual customers, product rapid modeling andproduct transfiguration design subsystem for me and the application of product rapiddesign system based on the technique of structure reasoning.The paper presents a whole structure about product rapid design system for MC,which is based on the research about the system structure of product design for MC.And through the study on the core theory and the key technology, the paper gives anew method on product family modeling for MC, a new product instance searchingmethod and the method on product configuration model.At last, on the applicable background of "product fan for MC', the paperresearches on the application of PRDS for MC and have some success.
