Asphalt pavement has become the main type of pavement structure for highway in our country, but in recent with the construction of Chinese highway, the temperature segregation has become one of the main causes of early partial destruction of asphalt pavement. Asphalt mixture is transported from a mixed site to construction site for paving and crushing, temperature Control of asphalt mixture at different stages has become the key factor to ensure the quality of construction. In current construction of China, the traditional thermometer was still being used in temperature control of asphalt mixture, because of its work theory, it already can not meet the requirement of the construction quality. Foreign practice shows that the thermal imager could promoting good quality when used it in asphalt pavement construction.In this article, we have demarcated and adjusted the infrared thermal imager, actually applied the infrared image analysis software, compared the advantages and disadvantages of the thermal infrared imager and traditional detection methods in the process of construction; And we also have used thermal infrared imager to detect every step of asphalt pavement construction process, such as transportation, unloading, paving and rolling, analyzed the temperature segregation levels; analyzed the law of horizontal and vertical temperature distribution during construction; We also analyzed the reason of temperature segregation and provide solutions, and then we suggest that the construction technology and analyse their feasibility.
