A Study On The Problems Of Building Ecopolis In China

With technological progressing and social development, people are asking for higher demand on the urban environment, and how to achieve sustainable development is an important global issue. The correct concept of urban development and construction approach is a pre-condition to solve urban environmental problems. Therefore, Ecopolis emerged because of demand. In the construction progress of Ecopolis in China, a lot of useful explorations have been done, from urban planning, environmental protection, resource conservation, recycling economy to ecological construction, renewable energy use, water reuse, sustainable development, policies and programs promoting social harmony, etc. However, various new issues are rising. For this reason, the paper attempts to exploratory analyze and research on relative problems of Ecopolis during the construction practice, from Ecological aspects of urban environmental sustainability. Theoretical viewpoints of the background of the ecological city, the history of theory, study situation at home and abroad, as well as the concept and connotation were researched, and theoretical models of city constructions and relative international or national awards were differentiated and analyzed. Then the evaluation standards of the ecological city, the basic principles and contents of construction, the current situation of Ecopolis in China and the gap between common city and Ecopolis were discussed in detail. Finally, problems appearing in the practice of Ecopolis construction in China were analyzed. Corresponding countermeasure and suggestion were put forward, by comparing outstanding cases aboard and domestic cases.
