After the high speed development of building, our country will be in a period of existing much maintenance, reconstruction, reforcement of the old buildings. Through a reinforcement of frame and foundation project of a building in Shanxi, meeting the needs of functional changes and adding floors, this paper uses PKPM and ANSYS finite element analysis software to analysis and compared to the performances of the structure under the different loads before and after the reinforcement, discusses the bearing capacity improvement of steel-armoured reinforced concrete column when considering confinement effect, and stress analysis of raft and independent foundation when they are working together, and also introducts some test, identification and reinforcement design methods used in this project. The main study in this paper are:First, Summarizing methods of building structure reinforcement in present and the research status. Second, Using a example of a Shanxi building adding floors renovation project, this paper designs the program of reinforcement and renovation with PKPM, and analysises the reinforced structure under the requirements of codes. It introduces reinforcement methods of increasing section and armouring steel and carbon fiber sheet reinforced concrete beams and columns in point. With code, it points the defects of steel-armoured design methods in present, use ANSYS to analysis this method in column bearing capacity;Last, Compared the measured settlement to the PKPM calculating settlement, it gives a reasonable thicken raft model to meet code requirements. Establishing with ANSYS raft-independence foundation model to analysis the mechanical characterstics of the model and internal force distribution.
