This research aims to obtain the land-use-type data of the Tumuji natural reserve from the year 2005 and 2010 by utilizing TM remote sensing image. According to science journal articles, literature information reviewed and technique of GIS, the research applies Identity Matrix, landscape ecology law and multifactor raster data compound analytic method to analyze the natural reserve's present situation from three parts:a description of the land, landscape and biodiversity, an estimation of the impact of social activities and change of environment of the natural reserve. The following conclusions are achieved:First, in 2010, the plantation and grassland area are the main type of land in the natural reserve, covering more than 71.5%. Then the water is followed, covering 14.15%. Unused land covers 11.99%. Therefore, the human work disturbance covers the main proportion of natural reserve. In landscape part, LDI, SHDI, RD, SHEI and the great diversity index are 0.51,1.4573, 88.16%,0.6632 and 1.79. From the above, the landscape plaque is equation and landscape degree of fragmentation is little.Secondly, from comprehensive analysis the RS image in 2005, land use transformation matrix and faculty report, from 2005 to 2010, high coverage grassland of the area is transported to plantation. And transport to the swale for 20.1 km2, to alkaline land for 16.2 km2. The area of forests had been reduced, and it transport to settlement place for 0.12 km2, to plantation for 10.1 km2. So, the plantation area was increased. From landscape, SHDI index was reduced from 1.4882 to 1.4573; RD index was increased from 99.1686 to 99.1859. It's clear that the human activity was continually enhanced, the impact of natural landscape was gradually increase and the area for land use and buildings are broadened. The LDI index was increased from 0.28 to 0.51, SHEI index was decreased from 0.6773 to 0.6632, so that the land use type maintained the balanced situation.
