The effect of different precipitator on the performance of TiOPc such as its crystal form, photoconductivity and the stability of crystal was investigated in this paper. The XRD of the TiOPC precipitated by adding the sulfuric acid solution of TiOPc into ethanol dropwise shows a peak at Braggangle (2θ±0.2) of 31.8°. This TiOPc having photosensitivity is Y-form. The testing rusults of TiOPc mentioned above were: V0 is 680V,Rd is 22.5V/s,Vr is 10V,E1/2 is 0.85lx.s. Compared with the sample precipitated by water, the Residual Potential of device using TiOPc as CGL purified by ethanol decreases sharply.In milling process, the effct of mechanical force which is the main cause for crystal transformation was reduced when milling with solvent. The X-ray diffraction peak ofβ-TiOPc appeared with milling, but relative intensity is small.In addition, the influence of water/ethanol precipitator and crystal transformation time was also studyed. Dark decay can be reduced with ethanol as precipitator partially or wholly, Especially with water-ethano mixed solution in 3:1, Dark decay can be reduced from 27.5 v/s to 11.5V/s. Crystal transformation time has little influence to crystal transformation of Y-TiOPc.But the photosensitivity will be decreased with time increasing. Three hours is Optimum, ande its xerographic data was :V0 is700V,Vr is 5V,Rd is 12.5V/s,E1/2 is 0.7lx.s.In order to get good dispersivity of TiOPc, drying method was studyed, The results showed that the TiOPc obtained by vacuum freezing drying has small patical size , uniform dispersion , so vacuum freezing drying is the best drying method.Considering cost and photoconductivity, Optimum Processing conditions preparing high photosensitive TiOPc was that:dropping sulfuric acid solution of TiOPc to ethanol,the filtrate cake getting by liltrating was dried,then the dried filtrate cake was treated with o-dichlorobenzene-water in 1:1 under 50℃for three hours. finally, the target TiOPc will be obtained by vacuum freezing drying.
