Firstly, the optimum splitting technology conditions of PTT/PA6 and antibacterial PET/PTT composite microfiber was determined by orthogonal experiment. Optimum splitting condition was investigated by measuring and analyzing weight loss, splitting rate, and water absorbing capability.A series of experiments have also been done on dyeing capacity of PTT/PA6 and antibacterial PET/PTT composite microfiber, which was evaluated in this research by contrast with conventional PET/PA6 composite microfiber, antibacterial PET/PA6 microfiber.We have carried out experiments on thermodynamics and kinetics of dyeing PTT/PA6 and antibacterial PET/PTT composite microfiber employing disperse red FB. Dyeing capacity of the two composite microfibers are shown by the results of experimentation such as affinity of dyeing, heat of dyeing, entropy of dyeing, diffusion coefficient, half-dyeing time, constant of dyeing rate and so on. And this paper has made clear why there are such differences between PTT/PA6 and antibacterial PET/PTT composite microfiber and conventional PET/PA composite microfiber, PTT/PA6 and antibacterial PET/PA6 microfiber by investigating the point of addition of antibacterial agent, linear density and component of fiber.The result shows that the two PTT microfibers have similar dyeing properties with the two PET/PA6 microfibers. At same dyeing conditions, the dyeing speed, dyeing percentage in dyeing equilibrium and diffusion coefficient of PTT/PA6 and antibacterial PET/PTT microfibers are higher than that of the two PET/PA6 microfibers. And the half-dyeing time of the two PTT microfibers are a little shorter. At different dyeing temperatures, the two PTT microfibers present L-N and Nernst absorptions models respectively. The dyeing affinity of two PTT microfibers is higher than that of PET/PA6 microfibers. Due to the dyeing entropy change of the fiber is fairly bigger, the oriented dyeing degree of the dyestuff within the fiber is higher. Their dyeing enthalpy is also higher than that of the two PET/PA6 microfibers, which means their color fastness are better.
