Firstly, in order to study and produce qualified antibacterial PET/PA conjugatedmicrofiber, inorganic antibacterial agent mainly composed of silver sodium zirconiumphosphate to be used for melt spun fiber production is adopted on the base of study ofdifferent antibacterial agents. The antibacterial agent selected has excellent properties.Considering the actual situation of production equipments for PET/PA conjugatedmicrofiber in China, POY-DTY high speed melt spun method with master batch isadopted for antibacterial fiber production, in which some processing parameters areoptimized. The antibacterial DTY conjugated filament of PET/PA6 165dtex/72×9P is putinto production in batch after trial production with results of all the fiber propertiesmeeting desired practice requirements. After dyeing and finishing treatment, especiallysplitting processing, warp knitted fabric made of antibacterial conjugated microfiberpresents durable antibacterial performance and other advanced properties.Secondly, the structure and properties of the antibacterial conjugated microfiber areresearched and studied. The optimized splitting process is determined by means of seriesexperiments. The splitting rate evaluation model and cleaning effect evaluation model forthe fiber are created with Matlab Program and fuzzy math separately to evaluate fibersplitting status. Experimental results show that the splitting degree of the fiber is muchbetter than that of normal conjugated fiber. Adopting two grades fuzzy evaluation model,the cleaning effects of the fiber and its fabric are compared by parallel tests, and resultsshow that they have excellent cleaning function. In Disperse Red FB dyeing test, thedyeing kinetics and thermodynamics properties of the fiber are researched, result showsthat the fiber has similar dyeing kinemics property with other microfibers is reached. Atdifferent dyeing temperatures, the fiber presents L-N and Nernst absorptions respectively,where the dyeing affinity of it is higher than that of normal PET/PA6 microfiber. It hasalmost the same dyeing properties with other normal microfibers. Due to the dyeingentropy change of the fiber is fairly smaller, the oriented dyeing degree of the dyestuffwithin the fiber is lower, which results in poor color fastness compared with polyestermcirofiber. Since the antibacterial agent is put in, the fiber dyeing enthalpy is smaller thanthat of normal PET/PA6 conjugated micro fiber, and its color fastness is improved.
