To save the consuming energy and transport safely of the easy solidification and high viscidity crude oil has been the major technical challenge which our oil storage and transportation sector faces. After more than 40 years of unremitting efforts, China in this field has achieved many important results, but at present there are many hard technical problems must be solved to save the consuming energy and to transport safely of Daqing oil which contains too much wax. Because Daqing crude oil has much gum elements that can holdback the current flow improver function, to improve the flowability of Daqing oil by adding the current flow improver is extremely difficult. In order to reduce the consumption at the oil transportation process and reduce the infrastructure investment of the second or third time newly built infilling wells and reduce the cost of oil withdrawal, we develop Daqing oil fields normal atmosphere temperature and low-temperature oil transportation research and applied research by adding some chemical agent.At present, Daqing oil field construction and design academy produced three different normal atmosphere temperature and low-temperature oil transportation chemical agents available for Daqing oilfield blocks. Daqing oilfield used this kind of crude oil flow improver to transport oil in low-temperature, the oil transportation temperature has been cut down significantly, and economical benefits are distinct.In this paper, the measure of theory analysis and practice combined is adopted. It analyses the characteristic and microstructure of water cut oil emulsion which flow improver is added in. In this paper, the on-way resistance rule to flow along the pipeline is reserched, thus we could provide a theoretical basis for adding flow improver to achieve the normal atmosphere temperature and low-temperature oil storage and transportation. We mainly study flow improver mechanisms, the on-way resistance pressure drop and viscidity influence factors, the affection extent of different factors, finally we verify the emulsion fluid type, create pressure drop and viscosity formulas and calculate the experimental data, in-depth discuss the rheological characterization of oil-water mixture after adding flow improver.
