(1) A porous coordination polymer [MnL]n·2nH2O was synthesized. It has a 2,3-butanedione bisisonicotinoyl hydrazone as Schiff base ligand. The coordination polymer has a 2D(4, 4) square grid structure. The coordination polymer is characterized by TG-DTA, IR spectra, solid and solution UV-Vis spectra and X-ray single crystal diffraction.(2) A crystalline complex [(CeL)(NO3)2(H2O)2]NO3 was synthesized by mixing 2, 3-butanedione, isonicotinoyl hydrazine and Ce(NO3)3·6H2O in CH3OH/H2O. The complex is characterized both by spectral methods and X-ray single crystal diffraction.(3) The hydration-dehydration properties of the porous coordination polymer {[ZnL](NO3)0.5(OH)0.5}n·1.5nH2O was investigated. It was found that the crystal has different colors under different conditions. The crystal is brilliant yellow. It partially loses water with the color changes to orange-red in the air. The color of the crystal turned red after being baked. The color turned brilliant yellow again after the sample being fully hydrated. The peak positions for the charge-transfer transition of samples with different hydration-dehydration levels were different, while the other parts of the spectra have little difference.
