Study On Expert System For Fuzzy Fault Diagnosis Of Activated Sludge Process Flow

At present, the activated sludge process is one of the most widely used for urban wastewater treatment system. But most of activated sludge process flow has many operation problems, such as sludge bulking, sludge disaggregating, sludge contagioning, sludge floating and foaming. These problems make effluent water quality degeneration and handling capacity decrease, even worse to cause the process flow failure. In this article, we have researched expert system technique in activated sludge process flow fault diagnosis, and established a fuzzy fault diagnosis expert system based on rule. According to the fault symptom information, the system can distinguish fault type and affecting factor, then gives handling measures.By analyzing the fault types and parameters of operation state of activated sludge process flow, and according to the characteristics of fault diagnosis of activated sludge process flow, the author represents diagnosis knowledge through production rule method and transforms them into a format accepted by CLIPS, then establishes the fuzzy knowledge base. In allusion to uncertain problems of activated sludge process flow, utilize CLIPS uncertain inference engine and fuzzy technique to accomplish knowledge inference, hence realize the intelligent diagnosis of wastewater treatment on activated sludge process flow.The fuzzy fault diagnosis expert system carry out by Visual Basic and CLIPS cooperative programming way in Windows platform and Microsoft Access 2003 data base environment. The expert system adopts modular design method and achieves the separation of knowledge base and inference machine. The simulate test shows that the expert system has high diagnosis performance, and it is easy to use and maintain. The system provides a kind of feasible idea for the further study and application of intelligent fault diagnosis in the field of wastewater treatment.
