The RO (reverse osmosis) technique has been used more and more widely in the field of water treatment, but the scale on the surface of membrane is one of questions which are the long-standing and affecting the membrane systems operating in security. So in the operation of the RO systems, the most commonly used technique for preventing and controlling CaCO3 scale precipitation on RO membranes is by dosage of an anti-scalant. Since the present evaluation of the anti-scalants exist some limitation, so the development of the fast, practicable anti-scalant evaluations is necessary. A new laboratory technique with a recycle mode of continuously recycling part of the permeate was proposed for dynamic evaluation of the performances of reverse osmosis membrane scale inhibitors. It can save time, save labour and reliably to do the evaluation and compare with the results of the conductivity measurement method and the full recycle model. Simulated specific solution was used as feed water. The calcium carbonate-resistant performances of...
