Dye wastewater is usually a dark color, contains high concentrations of organic compounds, non-biodegradable matters, toxic substances and other harmful compounds. The volume of dye wastewater is very large, the quality and the amount of the water may also vary. Do research on treating dye wastewater which is hard to be treated, has vital significance to environmental protection. For this research, two commonly used water-soluble reactive dye has been chosen for model wastewater dyes, azo dyestuff reactive brilliant red X-3B along with anthraquinone dyes reactive brilliant blue KN-R, which were treated by Fe/C internal electrolysis. During the research various experimental parameters were then investigated such as time for internal electrolysis, particle size of the iron filings, proportion, the proportion of Fe/C, pH, the concentration of the dye water and also the temperature of the water bath in order to find the optimum condition. At the same time, different effects aroused by every parameter to the two kinds of dye water in the experiments, have been discovered and compared.Added to these, p nitrophenol was also been chosen as a subject investigated for its molecular structure is simply. P nitrophenlo was also be treated by Fe/C internal eletrolysis. Besides research various experimental parameters, ion chromatography was been used to detect the concentration of NO3- and NO2- in the treated samples. According to the experiment results mechanism for internal electrolysis treating reactive brilliant red X-3B and reactive brilliant blue KN-R has been analyzed.
