Tetravalent metal phosphates are a kind of multifunctional inorganic materials developed in recent years, especially the species of layered compounds such as zirconium phosphate, because of the regularity of its structure. A lot of literatures have reported the intercalation behavior of α-zirconium phosphate (abbreviated as α-ZrP) and γ -zirconium phosphate (abbreviated as γ-ZrP). But very few papers dealt with the intercalation behavior of zirconium phosphate-phosphonate, which have a layered structure similar to that of α-zirconium phosphate. Because of the stability and regularity of interlayer floor of inorganic α-ZrP and the variety of organic synthesis, -OH group of α-ZrP are replaced by methyl phosphonate with -COOH, -SO3H, Benzenesulfonates and alkyl group with a long chain, Crystal zirconium phosphate-phosphonate are a kind of potential smart material. Therefore, carrying out investigations of preparation and intercalation of zirconium phosphate-phosphonate is a very significant topic. Some guests are intercalated into Layered zirconium phosphate-phosphonate by ion bond, hydrogen bond and so on, between host and guest in order to prepare general structural intercalation complex materials that are extensively applied in many fields such as electrochemistry, photochemistry, catalyst, ion-exchanger, medication, biology, environments and like. Layered zirconium phosphate-phosphonate as an important member of...
