Phosphorous Slurry is mostly one of outgrowth during the production of yellow phosphor and it is a kind of dangerous solid waste in phosphorous chemical industry. Treatment and use of phosphorous slurry is a very important, because it can not only influence the collection ratio and produce cost, but also cause serious environmental pollution. Though researchers in the world have explored much to the treatment and use of phosphorous slurry for a couple of years, any suit suitable and efficient way hasn't been found. Methods of distilling yellow phosphor from phosphorous slurry in the world now, including: Evaporating phosphorus, medicaments, absorption and vacuum filtration treatment, treatment in the electric field, absorption and separation method and so on. However, Because there is some defects and existing problems for these methods of distilling phosphorus, they aren't used widely. Presently, the most research on methods of distilling yellow phosphorus from phosphorous slurry in domestic is the methods of phosphorus evaporation, But it has these disadvantages: the life of the evaporating phosphorus boiler is short, the ratio of the phosphorus recovery is low, economic benefit is bad.On the basis of the former experiments, the study improved and designed the first equipment for distilling yellow phosphorus in phosphorous slurry at the mid-temperature, The author run and tested the equipment with the material (phosphorous slurry) which is brought from a factory in Malong county in Qujing city to observe and study its characteristic to find and solve the problems in the experiment. After that, the study improved farther on the problems of the first set of equipment, and testify the efficiency of the equipment. The author analyzed how temperature, pressure, operation time and so on influenced the recovery ratio and the contents of arsenic in yellow phosphorus product.After the phosphorous slurry was treated by the second equipment which was designed in the experiment, these conclusions are gained: 1) The reclamation ratio is 89.7%. 2) The percent of phosphorus and arsenic in yellow phosphorus is respectively 99.54% and 95.8ppm.3) The percent of phosphorus and arsenic in phosphorous residue is respectively 7.62% and 140ppm.The relation of cost to benefit in distilling yellow phosphorus from phosphorous slurry at mid-temperature was discussed and elementary conclusion to economic feasibility of was worked out.At the present, researches on distilling yellow phosphorus in phosphorous slurry are in the ascendant. The emphasis of research is the design of the efficient equipment. The study improved and optimized the equipment in distilling yellow phosphorus from phosphorous slurry at mid-temperature will be applied widely in the phosphorus factory. That distilling phosphorus from phosphorous slurry can eliminate hazard solid, become resourceful and harmless. Consequently, this will bring us economic benefit and environmental benefit.
