Luohanguo fruits [Siraitia grosvenorii (Swingle) C. Jeffrey], a special Chinese medicinal plant, is used in the treatment of colds, sore throats, cough and so on. And it is widely used in manufacturing medicine, beverage and flavoring agent. This paper is to introduce my research on Luohanguo fruits from the flowing three parts:1. Two kinds of sweet triterpene glycoside constituents were separated from Luohanguo fresh-fruits [Siraitia grosvenorii (Swingle) C. Jeffrey] through polymer adsorption column separation, ion exchange column decoloration, silica gel chromatography separation and HPLC purification. On the basis of chemical and spectroscopic evidence, their structures were verified as mogroside V and 11-oxo- mogroside V, the purity of them were 98.5% and 99%.2. Mogroside V which was separated by ourselves was used as standard sample, to measure the content of mogroside V in Luohanguo fresh-fruits which have different growth periods. The law of the variation in the contents of mogroside v was drawn which had not been reported before. The law is that mogroside V grows rapidly after 50 days and becomes stable after 80 days. 3. A kind of flavonol named quercetin was first found and by their retention times in RP-HPLC and chemical characters a known flavonol named kaempferol was proved to be contained in Luohanguo fruits. The law of the variation in the contents of flavone glycoside was summed up that the content of flavone glycoside in Luohanguo fruits gets its top after about 50 days and declines rapidly after 60 days for the first time. Chromatographic conditions were: column: Turner YWG C18 (4.6mm×250mm, 5μm); mobile phase: V (CH3OH) : V (H2O) : V (H3PO4)=60 : 40 : 0.3; flow rate: 1.0 mL / min; detection wavelength: 360nm; temperature: ambient.
