Modem research shows that resveratrol has multi-functions including the antineoplastic and antioxdant activity. The resveratrol content in polygonun; cuspidatum is the highest among all studied plant species according to known papers. Because it has valuable uses in healthcare, medicine and food , its extraction and purification becomes a research focus.I.. The stability of resveratrol was studied prelimiarly in the paper. The proceduces to analyze resveratrol with UV, TLC and HPLC method were also set up. Different contents were found in different parts of the spmple plant: bud of root> root> stem > leaf Seasonal analysis of the resveratrol in Polygonurn cu.cpidatum indicated the highest content from July to August.2.. 28 kinds of different extract solvents in 3 groups were chosen and the effects of these solvents on resveratrol extraction were studied. It was found that the saturated iso-butand is the best extracting solvent. Meanwhile, through the comparison of different extracting methods, the microwave plus regular methods was reconirnanded.3 . The technological conditions were researched about separating and purifying resveratrol from resveratrol extracts of Polygonum Cuspidaturn. Thecomparison, showed that the effects of AB -8 and polyamide resin were better than others to separate and purify resveratrol of Polygonum cuspidaa'um . Through comparative research of features of 28 kinds of resin of absorption and desorption to the resveratrol of polygonum cuspidwum , polyainide was found to be the best one. The desorption experiment shows that 60%-95% methanol solution can be used to deabsorb the main resveratrol, ~vater and lower32(XiI.iIconcentration of methanol can be used to deabsorb most of tile impurities. And then by concentrating and crystalling with 60%- 95% methanol deabsorbing SQlutIOfl, the coarse resveratrol can be obtained.
