There are different opinions about the phylogenetic classification of trib.Polygoneae species. In this paper, the leaf venation patterns of 94 speciesTrib.Polygoneae from China have been observed and described, so the paper canprovide some new evidences in solving some disputations existing in trib. Polygoneae, futhermore the studying result of leaf venation patterns support the views of take somesections as the rank of genus. eg. Sect. Avicularia is taken as Polygonum, Sect.Polygonum is taken as Persicaria, Sect. Bistorta(Adans.) is taken as Bistorta, Sect.Aconogonon is taken as Aconogonon, Sect. Echinocaulon is taken as Echinocaulon,Sect. Cephalophilon is taken as Cephalophilon; We still support the views of mergingPolygonum filicaule Wall.ex Meisn., Polygonum fertile (Maxim.) A.J.Li, Polygonumsparsipilosum A.J.Li,Polygonum sparsipilosum A.J.Li var. hubertii (Lingelsh.) A.J.Li,Polygonum cyanandrum Diels, Polygonum wuxiense F.Z.Li et Y.T.Hou, Polygonumnummularifolium Meisn, Polygonum forrestii Diels. into Koenigia; We support theview of taking Polygonum perfoliatum L. out of Section Echinocaulon and come into anew genus of Chylocalyx;support merging Polygonum bungeanum Turcz.into SectionPersicaria; We did not support the view of taking Fallopia multiflora (Thunb.) Harald.out of Sect. Bistorta (Adans.) and merge into Bistorta with Reynoutria japonica Houtt.According to the characteristics of the leaf venation patterns, we suggest thatPolygonum emodi Meisn and Polygonum emodi Meisn var. dependens (Diels) shouldbe taken out of Section Bistorta and merge into genus Emodi; We suggestedestablishing a new genus Vaccinifolium, including Polygonum vaccinifolium Wall. exMeisn, P. molle D. Don var. rude (Meisn.) A. J. Li, P. molle D. Don var. frondosum(Meisn.) A. J. Li. etc, but not agree the view of Wu Zheng-Yi dividing former Trib.Polygoneae into Persicarieae and Polygoneae。...
