The ecological environment is the foundation of the people's survival and development, but with the continuous development of economic and social, the phenomenon of eco-environmental destruction continued unabatedly. Thus, ecological restoration as one means of protecting the ecological environment is very necessary. The ecological restoration mainly includes two techniques: artificial restoration and natural forces repairment. Although repair manual repair is the fastest way in the environment where has been damaged, it needs a large number of fixed costs, calls for the significant human forces and material resources, restores the very small area. But in the region of less interference from the human activities, natural forces repairment all the time play a very important role in making a lot of regional ecological environment to be improved. Therefore, the use of natural ecological restoration to repair the ecological environment is also an effective way.The text need to inspect the study area in order to understand and master the effects on improving the ecological environment from the natural ecological restoration projects and measures. As the remote sensing has a large number of the detected area, is restricted small- relatively by the ground, fast, has a short cycle and so on. Therefore, this article uses the remote sensing to monitor the natural ecological restoration.In this paper, The text adopts the remote sensing images of Fuxin City in 1995 and 2004 belonging to two respective periods and HaiTang mountain the surrounding areas as the study area and use remote sensing tools to monitor the ecological restoration in Fuxin City. The main research contents and conclusions include:(1) The image processing. In order to improve the accuracy of monitoring features and to enable the two remote sensing images of different periods more comparable to make the features more reliable and scientific, therefore, before extracting the natural ecological restoration elements which the remote sensing monitors, The text need to geometrically correct the remote sensing images, band selection, extract the study area and so on series of extraction processing.(2) Factor extraction. It analyzes that the natural eco-restoration monitoring should select what elements and each element come true in what principle as well as the concrete realization course. Extract vegetation coverage factors of remote sensing image with the method of pixel dichotomy; Extract land-use type factors of remote sensing image with the method of the Maximum Likelihood; Extract temperature factors and humidity factors of the remote sensing images with heat index, humidity index and so on.(3) Result analysis. Within the study area, the effect of natural ecological restoration is quite remarkable. In the vegetation coverage area, from 1995 to 2004, the high vegetation coverage has significantly improved, in which the medium and low coverage area of less than 60% is significantly reduced, respectively increasely at the range of 4.7% and , the high - large of greater than 60% increase a lot in coverage area, the high coverage of more than 80% increase at the largest size of 3.9%; in the types of land use, forest and grassland area increased .From 1995 to 2004, the area of forest land rises up by 26,395.81 square meters, the area of grassland increased by 517.53 square meters, respectively increasing by 2.25% and 0.4%; in the pattern of the landscape, from 1995 to 2004 , the whole landscape in the study area develops towards fragmentation, complication and an increase of advantages, the irregularities of the overall shape. The number of plaques is increasing, the number of woodland is also increasing, the overall shape of the landscape is developing towards the direction of the complication and its non-stability is enhanced, which makes improvement of the study area to the ecological environment inconspicuous; in other monitoring factors the temperature rises; the humidity also increases.To sum up, it is suitable to do natural ecological restoration in region of the less anthropogenic interference, especially in the large areas and the results of ecological restoration are quite remarkable. The use of remote sensing methods to monitor the natural ecology is also a very viable means.
