Research On The Impact Evaluation Of Newspaper Articles By Fusing Citation And Altmetrics

Newspaper articles is the academic articles published on newspapers,which are not reports.The most typical ones are the articles published on the theoretical pages of newspapers.As a kind of academic articles,newspaper articles not only have the characteristics of news reports,but also contain rich academic value.They are one of the important platforms for leading cadres,experts and scholars in the field of humanities and social sciences to exchange ideas and publish results.However,there are few studies and practices on the impact evaluation of newspaper articles as a special and important form of academic achievements.By studying the evaluation methods of the impact of newspaper articles,the effective evaluation of the impact of newspaper articles will help to improve the evaluation system of academic achievements,and promote the discipline of Bibliometrics and Scientometrics.At the same time,it is conducive to expanding the scope of scientific research evaluation objects,promoting the multi-channel display and dissemination of academic achievements,thereby improving the ecological management of scientific research.This dissertation starts from the academic impact and social impact of newspaper articles.Firstly,based on the method of citation measurement,this dissertation constructs the academic impact evaluation indicator system of newspaper articles.Secondly,this dissertation introduces the Altmetrics method to design the social impact evaluation strategy of newspaper articles.Thirdly,an evaluation method of newspaper articles' impact is put forward based on TOPSIS and Grey Relation Analysis.Lastly,taking the newspaper articles published in Guangming Daily as an example,the method of newspaper articles impact evaluation is verified and analyzed.The specific research contents and achievements include the following five aspects:(1)Summary of the research on the impact evaluation of newspaper articles.By combing and summarizing the related research of impact evaluation,the development,data sources and tools,indicators and methods of evaluation methods such as peer review,citation measurement,Altmetrics are sorted out.As a kind of the scientific academic achievements,the research and practice of newspaper articles impact evaluation are less concerned by the researchers,so the problem of newspaper articles impact evaluation needs to be solved urgently.(2)Analysis of characteristics of newspaper articles.After definition of newspaper articles,this dissertation analyzes the characteristics of newspaper articles qualitatively in detail.Then choosing the articles published on the theoretical pages of Guangming Daily as typical representatives of newspaper articles by comparison,this dissertation analyzes newspaper articles from citation,download and dissemination online comparing with the journal articles in the same discipline quantitatively.(3)Study on the theoretical basis and framework of newspaper articles' impact evaluation.This dissertation discusses the theoretical basis of newspaper articles' impact evaluation,and proposes the impact generation sources of newspaper articles based on diffusion behavior.This dissertation designs a scheme for impact evaluation of newspaper articles based on the method of Analytic Hierarchy Process,the coefficient of variation,TOPSIS and Grey Relation Analysis.(4)Study on the evaluation indicators of newspaper articles impact.This dissertation discusses the applicability of the traditional citation indicators and other citation indicators based on full text analysis to the evaluation of newspaper articles academic impact,and constructs the academic impact evaluation indicator system of newspaper articles composed of total citations,other citations,the article's h index,the citation indicators calculated by the citing frequency,the citing location weighted frequency and the citing emotion weighted frequency.Because of the localization of Altmetrics in the context of Chinese data,this dissertation constructs an evaluation indicators system of newspaper articles' social impact based on the collection of newspaper articles' internet dissemination data by using search engine,the determination of the source of evaluation indicator data by analyzing website information,and the calculation of Altmetrics evaluation indicator value.(5)Empirical study on impact evaluation method of newspaper articles.This dissertation selects the newspaper articles published in the theoretical pages of Guangming Daily as an empirical example,and describes the operation steps of the impact evaluation of newspaper articles,such as the acquisition and standardization of the evaluation indicator data,the calculation of the weight coefficient of the evaluation indicator,and the calculation of the result of the evaluation.By analyzing the evaluation results of the evaluation method,this dissertation verifies the operability and effectiveness of the method of newspaper articles'impact evaluation.The purpose of this study is to construct an evaluation method for the impact of newspaper articles on the fusion of citation measurement and Altmetrics,and to solve the key problems in the impact evaluation of newspaper articles.The study has three main innovation points.(1)In view of the special type of academic achievements of newspaper articles,this dissertation fully considers the dual roles newspaper articles play in academic discussion and social communication,and forms a compound framework for evaluating the academic impact and social impact.It expands the research subjects of the impact evaluation,makes up for the shortcomings of the research on the impact evaluation of academic achievements,and enriches the theoretical system of the evaluation of academic achievements.(2)This dissertation puts forward an evaluation indicator system of newspaper articles impact,which includes academic impact and social impact,and designs a complete evaluation method of newspaper articles impact.In the aspect of citation measurement,this dissertation uses full text analysis method to introduce such factors as citation frequency,citation location and citation emotion into the evaluation indicator system to supplement the shortcomings of traditional citation measurement indicators,and puts forward the calculation scheme of indicator value of relevant factors,which improves the evaluation effect of academic impact of newspaper articles.In the aspect of Altmetrics,this dissertation puts forward a localized solution for evaluating the social impact of newspaper articles by using Altmetrics indicators,excavates the data sources of the social impact evaluation indicators of newspaper articles.The dissertation constructs the evaluation indicator system of social impact for Chinese newspaper articles,and designs the corresponding calculation method of the indicator value.(3)Based on TOPSIS and grey relational analysis,this dissertation designs a synthetic scheme for evaluating the impact of newspaper articles.By calculating the relative similarity degree between newspaper articles and ideal sample in the value and distribution of indicators,the dissertation compares and ranks the newspaper articles.It effectively avoids the problem of data difference between different evaluation indicators,and provides a simple and feasible operation scheme for scientific research management departments to evaluate the impact of newspaper articles.
