Abstract/Summary:
The following research proposal suggests that a descriptive, correlational study using a convenience sample be conducted for the purpose of assessing the relationship between years of experience and the perceptions of emergency department nurses towards factors causing medication errors. Emergency department nurses from a mid-state's emergency nursing association were surveyed to determine if a relationship existed. Most notably, a statistically significant correlation existed between two of the variables. This quantitative study contributes to the field of healthcare by targeting areas such as improving the quality of care in regards to medication administration.
