This study explored the relationship between optimism, psychological well-being and quality of life in a sample of females with Fibromyalgia Syndrome (FMS). Adult females with physician diagnosed FMS completed measures on optimism, psychological well-being, and quality of life. Levels of optimism were assessed using the Attributional Style Questionnaire (ASQ) (Seligman, 1984). Psychological well-being was assessed using the Ryff Psychological Well-Being Scale (Ryff, 1989). Quality of life was assessed using the Quality of Well-Being-SA (QWB-Sa) (Kaplan, Sieber & Ganiats, 1997). Regression analysis was used to determine the prediction value of optimism on the criterion variables of psychological well-being and quality of life.
