Study On CPC's Peasant Education After The Founding Of New China(1949-1966)

As socialism with Chinese characteristics is entering a new era,high-quality peasants are in great and urgent demand for the implementation of Rural Revitalization Strategy,and the importance of peasant education is increasingly prominent.It is of great significance to study and summarize the rich experience and theoretical achievements made by the Communist Party of China(CPC)in peasant education of 17 years since the founding of new China to further improve the effectiveness of peasant education in the new era,enhance the peasants' political identity,and fully implement the Rural Revitalization Strategy.This paper reviews and analyzes the theories and practice of the CPC's peasant education after the founding of new China.On the basis of process theory and activities carrier theory of ideological and political education,constructionist theory of the modern state and the political identity theory,methodologically with the integrated use of literature analysis,unifying history and logic,and comparative research etc.,combining the historical narrative and theory analysis,case study and the overall research,under the social background of constructing a new socialist country,the theories and practice of peasant education conducted by the CPC of 17 years since the founding of new China are discussed in depth on four aspects: class consciousness,national identity,socialist system identity and cultural life.The full text is divided into eight chapters,the details of which are as follows:In the first chapter,it is an introduction,mainly illustrating the origin and significance of the research,combs the relevant research situation at home and abroad,clarifies the research ideas and research methods,defines the core concepts,and expounds the theoretical basis of the research.The second chapter explicates the necessity and practice framework of the Chinese Communist Party's peasant education after the founding of New China.Under the background of constructing a new socialist country,the Communist Party of China has made use of the political movement to educate the peasants and strive to cultivate them into a new type of farmer with "consciousness,culture and technology" to propel the transformation of rural society.In terms of the third chapter,It discusses the education of class consciousness and reconstruction of rural order.Thanks to Land Reform Movement and Collectivization Movement,it expounds the education process of farmer class consciousness: cultivation class concept,defining class belonging,confirming class status,strengthening class trust,consolidating class conviction,realizing the reshaping of farmers' political concept and bolstering the reconstruction of rural social order.As to the fourth chapter,it describes national identification education and the establishment of farmers' new national concepts.It makes an analysis of the state identity education implemented by the Chinese Communist Party to the farmers from three aspects: the education of belonging consciousness,the education of political authority identity and the education of the view of national interests in the new type country,fostering the patriotic emotion of the farmers and registering the recognition of farmers to the new political authority of the state.The fifth chapter is about the identification education of socialist system and reform of farmer ideology.This chapter mainly analyzes the new ideas and novel ideology of collectivism,socialism and communism inculcated by the Communist Party of China through the Agricultural Cooperative Movement,the People's Commune Movement and the Rural Socialist Educational Movement to the farmers,especially the party members and cadres in the rural regime.It has facilitated farmers to complete the the process of recognition from ideological innovation to behavior change,and become socialist labourers ultimately.The sixth chapter explains the education of culture and life and the shaping of farmers' new life concepts.The Communist Party of China has carried out literacy education,production technology education and modern life style education for farmers in combination with the production,life and ideological reality of the peasants,and has shaped the new concept of farmers' life as well as accelerated the formation of a new rural social fashion.When it comes to the seventh chapter,it explicates the experience and future spotlights of farmer education after the founding of New China,which explores the historical experiences and mistakes of the farmer education carried out by the Communist Party of China at the backdrop of the construction of the new country and its enlightenment to the development of the farmer education in the new era.The last chapter is the conclusion of main views of the whole paper,pointing out the weakness of the research and the improvement and direction for the future.This paper attempts to innovate in the following aspects:1.To open up a new perspective of education research on ideology and politics.Firstly,innovation in theoretical perspective.This paper sets peasant education under the historical background of constructing a new style socialist country after the founding of new China,analyzes the framework with political identity theory,and based on the different national development goals under different historical stages,chooses three aspects of class consciousness,national identity and the socialist system to carry out peasants' ideological and political education,and unifies national construction,political identity,ideological and political education in peasants' education.Secondly,the attempt to synthesize multidisciplinary theories and methods to research peasant education.With ideological and political education as the priority,with theory views and research methods of history,political science and sociology as reference,process theory and activities carrier theory of ideological and political education,constructionist theory of the modern state and the political identity theory are comprehensively used to make a holistic perspective and analysis on the CPC's peasant education of 17 years since the founding of new China,and efforts to change the current fragmentary research on peasant education during this period are made to have a more systematized and theorized research.Lastly,broadening of the scope of the research.The research on peasant education in this paper is not limited to the goals,the contents and the methods perse,but rather it extends to pinpoint the effect of peasant education,in this way avoids the former isolated research on CPC's peasant education or the sole description of deficiency in rural changes after the founding of new China,which is conducive to the objective evaluation of the CPC's peasant education history during this period.2.To expand the contents of research on CPC's peasant education.At present,the academic community has been having little involvement in the research on CPC's peasant education of 17 years since the founding of new China,and has not paid enough attention to its importance and particularity.Firstly,under the background of constructing the new socialist country,with political movement as the mainstream and the carrier,and from the perspectives of country-peasant two-way interaction,this paper depicts the evolution route and its practical effect of the development of the theories and practice of CPC's peasant education of 17 years since the founding of new China,to achieve reunification of the study of panoramic,dynamics and continuity.Secondly,political movement is brought into the perspective of research on CPC's peasant education,and it is analyzed as an important carrier of peasant education and the basis of education practice evolution,realizing the unity of thought and practice movement of CPC's peasant education.Thirdly,the education of cultural life is incorporated into the research on the peasants' ideology and political education,and the characteristics of integrating the ideological and political education into the practice of social life during the implementation of CPC's peasant education in this period were emphatically studied,so as to promote the enrichment and further deepening of the contents of ideological and political education.To some extent,it makes up for the limitations of focusing on a certain movement period or only studying one aspect of peasants' ideological and political education.
