The method of critical slip field of slope is one of the most effective methods to determine the critical slip surfaces of general shape. With a decade development, the numerical simulation method of critical slip field of slope has become a new slope stability analysis method. However, under the complicated conditions, such as hydraulic and reinforcement, the application of the method is still needed to be further studied and improved. So in this paper, the numerical simulation method of critical slip field of slope has been improved under different hydraulic conditions and reinforcement measures based on the existing research results, so that the application realm of the method is expanded. Through continuous improvement, the method has become a new slope stability analysis method with strict theory, perfect function and stronger versatility. In addition, a new slope stability analysis software has been developed based on conventional and improved method of critical slip field of slope in this paper, which has a high visualization degree and a good human-computer interaction. In this paper, the main research work and results are summarized as follows:(1) Research on the calculation method of critical slip field of slope under the condition of hydraulic. Seasonal rainfall and reservoir operation can cause the fluctuation of reservoir water level and the change of pore water pressure distribution in the slope body, which is detrimental to slope stability, so that an improved numerical procedure for critical slip field of slope is proposed based on the theory of shear strength of unsaturated soils and pore water pressure field obtained with finite element method for the transient unsaturated seepage. In addition, by improving the critical slip field of slope, the numerical simulation method of bank collapse, considering lateral erosion and bed degradation, is also proposed. Moreover,in combination with transient unsaturated seepage calculation, an improved numerical procedure for critical slip field of slope with tension crack under intensive rainfall is proposed. Rationality and reliability of the above method have been verified by typical examples and engineering application.(2) Research on calculation method of critical slip field of slope under the condition of reinforcement. Anchor loads are often treated as point loads by the conventional methods of slices, which may lead to unreasonable abrupt changes in the inter-slice forces and normal stress distribution on the critical slip surface. In order to overcome the inherent defect of the conventional method, an new approach with new method dealing with anchor loads based on the critical slip fields of slope is proposed for evaluating the stability of anchor-reinforced slopes. In addition, in view of the difficulty of determining the location and shape of the critical slip surface of the reinforced slope, the numerical simulation method for critical slip field of reinforced slope, considering the balance of force and moment, is proposed. The calculation results of typical examples and engineering applications show that the reinforcement measures have great influence on the location and shape of the critical slip surface, and the above method can be used to search for more reasonable critical slip surfaces and safety factors under the action of reinforcement.(3) A new computing system based on the method of critical slip field has been established in Visual Studio 2013 development environment. The computing system owns drawing function which can achieve the visual input function of the slope model. This computing system has been applied to the stability analysis of four typical examples. The results show that the computing system has good generality and has the ability to analyze stability of complex slope engineering.
