Research On Interaction Mechanism And Regular Pattern Of Information Movement In Virtual Community

With the development and application of the Internet, virtual community, as a new applicationform of social information interaction, has been the most important information sharing platformin modern society. Information movement is the source of power to make informationacquisition and interaction last in virtual community. Therefore, the research on interactionmechanism and regular pattern of information movement in virtual community has theoreticaland practical significance. As a new research category, one of the features of research oninformation movement in virtual community is that multiple fields get involved and to studyfrom multiple perspectives. Under the guidance of the principle of combining inheritance andinnovation and on the basis of relevant researches, learned from the theory and methods ofmultiple subjects, this dissertion researches on the theme by combining of theoretical and casestudies.Virtual community is a social community that is formed by a group of people who areactive and closely related to each other in cyberspace with common interests. Virtual communitytransmits, exchanges and utilizes information on the Internet. Community members are linked byinformation transmission and sharing to build a new type of interactive relationship.Informationinteraction in virtual community is the main form of communication and activities betweencommunity members. From the perspective of information interactive process, informationmovement depends on sources, destinations, channels and carriers. In the information interactiveprocess, information is transferred between source and destination through the channel by carrier.The factors of information interaction in virtual community interact to trigger and enlargeinformation movement constantly and to make information movement continued and converted.From the perspective of information interactive cycle, if useful information is disseminated fastin virtual community, the use and regeneration of information can be promoted and uselessinformation can be inhibited. From the perspective of information interactive process andinformation interactive cycle, this dissertation researches on interaction mechanism ofinformation movement in virtual community and discovers that the mechanism is that information movement is composed of factors including sources, destinations, informationcarriers, information channels, information interactive behaviors, and affected by external factorsincluding information pollutions, community improvements, technological supports andenvironmental constraints.The information movement in virtual community is generated by sharing informationbetween users under the constraints of the loose management. Although characteristics ofinformation movement are different in different types of virtual community due to differences inmanagement and user groups, there is a common mode of informtion movement that is interationbetween management, knowledge base and users with manifestation of sending and receivingmessages. And there are regular patterns of information movement in virtual community basedon the basic laws of information movement. Virtual community of study is one of many kinds ofvirtual communities. As a network platform for exchanging academic information in specificdomains by people, virtual community of study plays a more and more important role inpromoting dissemination and sharing of information and knowledge by characteristics ofconvenient use, widespread participation of scholars, high quality of users. Therefore, thisdissertation takes virtual community of study as examples and use social network analysis andstatistical methods comprehensively to verify the regular patterns of information movement invirtual community as revealed above from the perspective of information released andrelationship built by users in information interactive process in virtual community of study.The efficiency of information movement is essential for good running and sustainabledevelopment of virtual community. To improve the efficiency of information movement invirtual community, it is necessary to find out the influencing factors of the efficiency ofinformation movement, and then put forward the countermeasure. Based on the regular patternsof information movement in virtual community, this dissertation analyses the factors affectingthe efficiency of information movement in virtual community and discovers that informationsending parties, information receiving parties and information movement scenarios all affect theefficiency of information movement in virtual community from the perspective of users andinformation movement scenarios. On the basis of grasping the key factors affecting the efficiency of information movement in virtual community, countermeasures and suggestions forcommunity users and information movement scenarios are proposed respectively for providingpractical reference to improve the quality of information management in virtual community.
