| Aim:Surgery is currently one of the most important modalities to cure or prolong the life span of patients of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). With CT scan becoming more and more popular, more and more early-stage lung cancer patients have been discovered. It has been increasingly important for health-related quality of life (HR-QOL) as an endpoint of treatment. The purpose of this article is to (1) whether lung surgery influences the patients’ post-operation quality of life significantly and (2) to screen the factors that may influence the effect of lung surgery on post-operation quality of life.Method:In this article,28patients were enrolled consecutively. Pre-and post-operation HR-QOL was evaluated by36-Item Short Form Health Survey (Chinese version). Post-operation quality of life was acquired after2months after surgery. A series of factors that may affect the post-operation quality of life were analyzed. Paired t test and logistic regression are used for statistical analysis.Result and conclusion:This research confirmed that lung surgery have a profound influence on patients’ quality of life.7out8dimensions of quality of life are significantly influenced by lung surgery. These influenced dimensions are Physical functioning (PF), role-physical (RF), bodily pain (BP), general health (GH), vitality (VT), social functioning (SF) and role-emotional (RE). Only pre-operation lung function influences the effect of lung surgery on post-operation quality of life. |
