ObjectivePremenstrual syndrome (PMS) is a common gynecological disease. Through a large population studies by some countries on women before or during menstrual period found that 30% to 80% have a change on physical or emotional symptoms and 2% to 10% have a change on life style or even their work was severely affected. There was no relationship between their onset of age, parity, race.personal and cultural level, socioeconomic status. My study was to perform a survey on Hong Kong women, to study the effect of their life style, personal character and psychological behavior on their premenstrual syndrome. The aim was to explore social potential crisis for premenstrual syndrome so as to set up a preventive measure for premenstrual syndrome and to establish a health education guide for Hong Kong women.MethodsThe female patients who attended Hong Kong State Medical Xuan Chinese medical centers and the Hong Kong Yakushido patient Rende light of Hong Kong ehinese Medicine with premenstrual syndrome during the period of January 2013 to April 2014 was randomly selected. In this study, R3.02 and SAS 9.3 statistical software are used for statistical analysis of all the data. I used a self-designed premenstrual syndrome questionnaire, Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (Adult) and a self-rating scale on clinical symptom questionnaire for my survey. The result was finally analysis according to the outcome of the questionnaire and the clinical manifestations.ResuItsIn this survey,821 questionnaires were distributed and 808 copies were returned.8 of the copies was not completed and was rejected. Hence,800 completed questionnaires were collected. At the same time,404 subjects were selected as control group.According to the symptoms of scoring table, marking (0 to 39 points) were given to represent the severity of premenstrual syndrome. The 396 recruited women were divided into low syndrome group, middle syndrome grop and high syndrome group.183 women (46.21%) belong to low syndrome group,133 women (33.59%) belong to middle syndrome group and 80 women (20.20%) belong to high syndrome group.Compared with control group, constitution transformation points of Premenstrual syndrome group is different. Deficiency of Yang qi depression constitution score higher than the control group, and peaceful transformation of damp and hot is lower than the control group compared with control group. In the aspect of Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (Adult), N, P and L scale scores of premenstrual syndrome group were higher, while E scale score is lower than the control group.Eysenck scale score of different symptoms of premenstrual syndrome score comparison, comparing different symptom scores E scale, L scale, variance, application of analysis of variance that lower premenstrual syndrome group L scale scores, there was no statistically significant difference E scale score of three groups of different symptom scores. Thus N scale, P scale variance was not neat, nonparametric test was applied, N scale score of lower premenstrual syndrome group is higher and P scale score of the high group is higher.According to the symptoms distribution of the premenstrual syndrome, the result shown that:Frequency of headaches, depression or depressive, bloating and breast tenderness are more than 60%. Headache is highest(94.70%).Correlation analysis of premenstrual syndrome and physical types, EPQ personality and premenstrual syndrome patients correlation between 9 kinds of constitution show that the correlation coefficient is higher for the deficiency of qi deficiency and Yang deficiency constitution, physique and constitution qi depression constitution, Yang deficiency constitution and qi depression constitution. the correlation coefficient of them are more than 50%.Symptoms of premenstrual syndrome score correlation analysis with nine constitution transformation points, qi deficiency constitution, Yang deficiency constitution and qi depression constitution have closed relationship with premenstrual syndrome. correlation coefficients are more than 70%.In TCM constitution as a variable in logistic regression analysis, found that deficiency of constitution was premenstrual syndrome risk factors of the disease, the OR value were 3.60; Qi depression constitution was premenstrual syndrome risk factors of the disease, the OR was 6.24.ConclusionConstitution of traditional Chinese medicine can prevent and control of premenstrual syndrome severity for PMS. Patients with PMS bias should be paid attention to physical training. In view of the above findings, in the process of the prevention and treatment of PMS,we should pay attention to those patients with headaches, depression or depressive symptoms, bloating, breast tenderness.Besides, in the use of TCM constitution personality analysis to determine the patient’s character should also be concerned about the miscellaneous physical condition so as to give a more accurately prediction on the progress and outcome of patient. Although the Eysenck’s personality theory has an impact on the psychological aspects of patient but it is not dominant.
