On The Journalistic Spirit

In 2003,the Propaganda Department of the CPC,the State Administration of Radio Film and Television,General Administration of Press and Publication and All China Journalists' Association jointly issue a Notice on "Three Study-Educations" in the journalistic sphere,including "the Three Representations",Marxist Views of Journalism and Journalism Professional Spirit & Morality.Then journalism professional spirit gets more and more attention in journalism and social development. There are many important theoretical achievements of "the Three Representations", Marxist Views of Journalism and Journalism Professional Morality.Contrastly,there are few independent and systematic achievements of Journalism Professional Spirit study.This dissertation tries to do some research on it.This dissertation focuses on the essence and character,structure and function, law and approach by the logical starting point of professional spirit,together with concerning thoughts and social factors.Its aim lies in creating a systematic theory of journalism professional spirit.This dissertation is divided into six chapters,the first 3 is about essence of journalism professional spirit and common theory,the forth is about forming of journalism professional spirit,the fifth explores the historical resources of journalism professional spirit,and the sixth is the examination of it.The detailed description of each chapter is as follows:The 1^st chapter is about the concept of journalism professional spirt,answering the question of what indeed it is.It observes connotations of journalism professional spirit as social consciousness,the rule of adjusting occupation behavior and communicators' character from essence,system and main body.It analyses it from all aspects.This dissertation thinks that journalism professional spirit is the concept construction and pursuit of value during covers all aspects of thinking ways,moral concepts and behavior criterion.It unifies inherit and development,objective and subjective,autonomy and heterogamous,ought-to-being and being.Meanwhile,this dissertation analyses the journalism professional spirit,journalism professional morality and journalism professionalism. The 2^nd chapter is structure analyses of journalism professional spirit, answering the question of what it is made of.It answers what journalism professional spirit contains.From mentality,it is divided into three levels:knowledge,emotionatity and will.From value aspects,it is also divided into three levels:duty awareness,the support level based on heteronomy,and morality conscience,the core level based on autonomy;and value aim,the leading level combined heteronomy with autonomy. Different levels have different effects on construction of it,and have important effects on standardizations of behavior and stabilization of quality.The 3^rd chapter is about functional observation of journalism professional spirit, answering the question of why should cultivate it.It sets direction of journalism and belief as guiding function,supplies mental and value support as dynamic function, sets value measure and ethics code support as monitoring and controlling function, and creates convergence and inspiration as cohesive function.It focuses the subjective spirit,rational awareness and transforming from certainty,necessity and possibility.The 4^th chapter is about forming of journalism professional spirit,answering the question of how to cultivate it.It firstly expounds three basic rules laws:assimilation, internalization and reinforcement.Assimilation is starting point,realizing the acceptation spreading idea and integration;internalization is core and the main body of formation of journalism professional spirit;reinforcement guarantees journalism professional spirit forming,realizing value adjustment and adaptation and justification.Secondly it concludes that Structure is built training-education drive,medium culture exerts a gradual corrupting influence on,the news practice body realizes sum autonomy self-examination distillation,which is 4 in 1 education.And then,it analyzes ideal essence of journalism professional spirit.This dissertation believes that journalism professional spirit is the unity of humanity spirit and scientific spirit,whose core support is responsibility consciousness and society intuitive knowledge,and whose ensuring system is the spirit of devoting and diligence to the vocation.The 5^th chapter is historical observation of journalism professional spirit, answering the question of what can be study from the historical thoughts of journalists. This chapter observes from theories' origin,history and drawn lesson.It analyzes from Marxism,Chinese history,CPC journalism thought and professionalism.There are three aspects of journalism professional spirit thought by Marxism:"eye and ear is everywhere","based on facts" and "strong standpoint of attack".There are three topics of journalism professional spirit thought by modem Chinese:"benefit to country","character is the most important factor" and "newspaper has it's personality" CPC theory on journalism professional spirit includes "Speak with Facts","Act as Servant of the People" and "Statesman's Running Newspaper".And journalism professional includes independent,public service and objective report.The 6^th chapter is about the present-day analysis,answering the question of how it is influenced by social factors.This chapter analyzes the main problems of journalism professional spirit,including intellectual impetus missing,professional behavior anomie and humanity spirit loss.From the macro angle of view,this chapter analyzes the social effects on journalism professional spirit construction.This dissertation concludes that social economic field,political field and cultural field have two-side effect on construction of journalism professional spirit,which is constructed and also deconstructed by them.
