Different media forms emerged in different era.For example,telegram was established in the era of Marx and Engels;radio appeared in the age of Lenin and Stalin;new media,which sprang up with the rise of the internet since China's reform and opening up,have played an important role in promoting the country's social development.Most Marxist classical theorists had the experience of working in journalism.For instance "New Rheinische Zeitung" was established by Marx and Engels and "Iskra" was founded by Lenin,which had a lot of unique understandings of journalism.Therefore,collating their ideas of journalism is an important part of the study of Marxist ideology of journalism.Collating Marxist classical theorists' work on the news profession,this paper analyses the macro system of Marxist theory of journalism from this micro prospective.A comprehensive analysis of Marxist classic theorists' conceptions on the work of journalism will be given in this paper,summarizing Marxist professional ideology of journalism.Marxist professional ideology of journalism,specifically Marxist classical theorists' viewpoints and comments on news profession,are the principles,concepts and working guide for the communication industry under the leadership of the Party.As a scientific theoretical system which seeks truth from facts and advances with the time,Marxist professional ideology of journalism experienced long-term development.When doing news work,Marx and Engels advocated the sense of “duty” in news profession,which includes “average justice” and “vigorously act”,emphasizing the timeliness and objectivity of news reporting.As politicians,Lenin and Stalin believed that the meaning of journalist profession lies in “indoctrinating” the scientific socialism to the audience;journalists must adhere to the principle of Party spirit and play the role of spiritual guide.The Communist Party of China,represented by Mao Zedong,put forward the idea during the New Democratic Revolution period that the Party should regard news as “weapon” and advocated professional ideology of journalism,like unconditional obedience to the Party's leadership,full involvement of the Party in establishing newspapers,newspaper establishment by the public and seeking truth from facts,etc..Since China's reform and opening up,Deng Xiaoping emphasized that journalisticwork can promote social stability and unity and journalists,as "engineers of human souls",should uphold the ideas of seeking truth from facts and fighting against formalism in news work.Jiang Zemin put forward the requirements for journalists: “politically competent”,“professionally skillful”,“disciplinally strict” and “stylistically upright”.Hu Jintao believed that the important principles of journalistic work are that the Party should be in charge of propagation and ideology and that journalism should always be people-oriented and respect the rules.Xi Jinping pointed out that the Party's fundamental orientation of journalistic work is to unify the Party spirit and the people's power;journalistic work need to adapt to the development of the current situation,strengthen the thinking of the internet,commit to the aspirations and be journalists who make the Party and people feel assured.This paper holds the view that Marxist professional ideology of journalism seeks truth from facts and advances with the time,which provides journalists with the highest standards of professional awareness and value judgment.
