The technique of localization and identification of target on homing system based onthe fusion of acoustic and millimeter wave (MMW) is systematically studied in thisdissertation, which comes from two national defense preparatory study tasks in tenthfive-year Plan.The technique of passive acoustic detection is first applied to target identification andlocation on intelligent mine. It is not affected by terrain and object, its power expending islower, it can be applied not only to identification of target but also to location of target onacoustic array roughly. MMW radar can also be used to home ideally on intelligent mine,the performance of its low pitch is good, not affected by smog, the accuracy of detectionof distance and angle is very higher by using MMW radar. The fusion of acoustic andMMW radar is a good remedy for acoustics in precision of location.The method of extracting feature of target on acoustics includes threshold of signal tonoise ratio, AR spectrum, zero-crossing number and wavelet transform. The identificationof target on acoustics is relied on the artificial neural network, which is a newer targetidentification method. It has the intelligence ability of learning,memory,computation.After extraction feature of range image on high range resolution MMW radar isaccomplished, the application of Fussy method in adaptive target identification in differentfields is discussion. The disturbance target unknown can completely be classified robustlywith the Fussy method. Accompanied with acquiring a large number of target MMWsample data, the higher precision of classifier can be acquired by the powerful ability ofnon linear and self-organizing of artificial neural network. By using of the fusion ofacoustic and MMW on identifying, the probability of identification can be improved.At last, keeping the intelligent mine used for blanking off runway in background, inallusion to the error of±8°in both pitch and azimuth, the estimating of target pitch andazimuth by using five elements acoustic array is described. The method of acousticlocation by computation of time delay base on generalized cross correlation is presented.Surveillance and location of target roughly is by using of acoustics, and detection ofdistance and angle precisely by MMW radar. Using stepped frequency radar, thecontradiction of the requirement of long detection distance and high precision of distancewithin the limited battery is solved. Widen the radar searching area on conical scan, thematch with the precision of angle by acoustic detection and target tracking automaticallyin angle is realized, with the fusion of acoustics and MMW radar, the problem of the decline of hitting probability caused by ground rough and uneven and the high precisionof target searching and tracking is solved. The digital follow-up system is applied in mine,searching and tracking target in pitch loop and azimuth loop, based on the axis of antennais parallel to the axis of battle disposition. The target area can be divided into three areaswhich include searching area, tracking area and missing area, depend on the angle oftarget-mine's line with the line of minimum of distance, based on this distinguishing, therotation speed of electric motor is three times as lower as the maximum speed required. Inthis way, the actually follow-up can be come true in engineer, the follow-up designeddependently is accomplished, which can track helicopter by acoustic device, this is thefirst time realization in china.
